Alison Hammond has given fans a glimpse into her personal life, revealing details about her debut novel which draws from her own experiences.
The beloved This Morning host, 49, graced BBC The One Show on Thursday (November 21) to chat about her new book, 'Bombshell'.
The romantic comedy centres around Madison, who puts her dreams on hold to support her family and her increasingly famous actor husband, until he abruptly leaves her.
Co-authored with Lisa Bent, Alison's book seems to reflect aspects of her own life, including her past relationship with 26 year old Russian masseur David Putman.
Discussing the storyline with presenters Roman Kemp and Angellica Bell, she explained: "Let me set the scene, so you can imagine Madison is married to a TV heartthrob who is quite famous and is getting more famous as time goes on. They are married and have two kids and everything is going swimmingly.", reports Wales Online.
Opening up about the realities of romance, Alison confessed: "Now we have all been blindsided in love."
She then refocused on her character Madison, adding: "One day her husband decides 'I don't want to be with you anymore' so she goes on this massive mission like a murder mystery but without the murder and she tries to find out what is going on with her husband."
Alison reassured her fans that the recent revelation was just a teaser and not a giveaway, emphasising: "That little moment is not a spoiler for the book, what I have just told you - there are more spoilers but I'm not going to tell you that because you need to read the book."
Roman pressed the TV star about the inspiration for her book, prompting Alison to hint ambiguously: "All I can say is Madison lives in my head and the only experiences I've got is my life so obviously everything that goes on in the book is from my head or from people I know in the industry."
As she addressed Roman directly, she added: "People who have told me a bit of gossip and you could be in the book."
His reaction was one of shock as he exclaimed with concern: "No don't say that because now I'm worried. " The room erupted in laughter when he nervously asked: "What have you told people Alison, you haven't told them about us have you? ".
With a playful tone, Alison responded: "You could be based on a few of the characters so it's from my own experiences. But you know what it's just the right amount of drama and it's just what you need this Christmas."
