Some people don't want children – and it's as easy as that.
Knowing their lives would be better without them, the topic still remains a stigma in society. Since not everyone understands, it can often lead to criticism for those who wish to be open about the matter.
Karina Irby is known for promoting body positivity online and her 1.1million followers on Instagram appreciate just how authentic she is when it comes to body image. The Australian is a bikini model and designer, as well as the CEO of the brand Moana Swim.
She documents her feelings online and recently answered a series of Q&A's over on her Instagram stories. Of course, the topic of pregnancy came up – and Karina was ready to put the conversation to bed once and for all.
In one of the questions, Karina was asked: "Do you plan on having kids?" To which she responded, with a photo of her and her husband: "Nope. Children by choice couple over here."
Then after a number of questions relating to her business, the topic of kids came up once again. This time someone said: "You will retrete this decision if you don't have kids [sic]."
Karina replied: "Regret* How can you be so sure I'll regret it? You don't know me or my husband? I'd regret having them." Over the years, the model has been clear cut about her decision – one of them being that her and Ryan are happy without them.
The conversation comes up a lot, so much so Karina published another Instagram post about it earlier this year. She told how she's happy without them, although trolls say she "has no purpose".
In a candid video, she revealed why she doesn't want children. She said she often "upsets strangers" because she's adamant about the fact she doesn't see kids as a part of her future.
Opening up about an incident, Karina said she was chatting to a "really nice" lady who noticed she was married. As the conversation got going, she just couldn't get to grips with why the influencer didn't want children.
Karina claimed she saw the "blood drain" from the woman's face when she revealed there's no plans to expand her family with her husband. The response was so dramatic, she knew she had to open up about it to her followers.
