Pete Wicks left Strictly Come Dancing host Janette Manrara speechless when he made a racy joke live on air today.

Pete left the audience in Blackpool stunned on Saturday night when he appeared in pink latex trousers and danced a Cha Cha Cha to I'm Too Sexy alongside his professional partner Jowita Przystal.

As he chatted with It Takes Two host Janette about their routine, Pete admitted he felt uncomfortable doing a Latin dance but wanted to push through it and try and make it through to the next week's competition, which he did.

"Funnily enough, it was my first time in latex trousers so I didn't know the ins and outs of it," he joked, before Jowita discussed the performance and how proud she was of Pete for taking it all in his stride.

Pete didn't hold back with his racy joke

Speaking to Janette, she said: "We had so much fun. I think, it's Blackpool and everything's bigger -" when Pete cut her off and interjected: "Thank you," leaving Janette in hysterics.

Jowita quickly added: "I'm just going to leave it on that one. But you know everything is bigger and better and we want to bring the entertainment and I know our goal for that Cha Cha Cha was to bring the entertainment and smile on people's faces."

"I enjoyed that very much, but I don't know if you did?" she said as she addressed Pete.

Following his performance on Saturday, Pete issued a statement on Instagram, where he thanked fans for keeping him in.

Pete avoided the dance-off on Strictly last week

He wrote: "Humbled. Overwhelmed. Grateful. I’m well aware I’m not a good dancer, but I am trying. Every week @jowitaprzystal and I just want to make the most of what we can. We take it day by day, week by week.

"I know VERY little about dancing but what I have learnt is that it’s about letting go and throwing yourself at it no matter what level of skill/talent you may or may not have. I know I make mistakes, I know I don’t have rhythm and I’m wooden but I won’t stop trying. I’ve tried my best from day 1 and I’ll continue to try my best for as long as I’m allowed to be part of the show. Your support has been mind blowing and each week you continue to show @jowitaprzystal and I love and we couldn’t be any more grateful. It’s down to you that we have managed to make it to week 10. THANK YOU. I promise you will never see me in latex again."

Strictly: It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
