People have been left stunned by how different a rescue cat looks just one year on from being taken off the streets.
Two images of the feline, one from when he was rescued and one from now, were recently shared on the r/BeforeNAfterAdoption forum on Reddit, where the person who shared the snaps explained the cat had been living on the streets for up to seven years in South Korea.
The before image shows the feline hiding underneath a car, with scrawny fur and marks on his face. The second image shows the cat completely transformed, reclining close to a cat climbing frame with a radiant, fluffy coat.
The Reddit post has been upvoted more than 2,800 times, and it attracted plenty of comments from people gobsmacked at how different the cat looks after just one year.
One person commented: "The difference in him under the tire vs sprawling like a king on his throne. Looking so very relaxed. It’s like your little guy had lost his spirit and you helped him get it back. Thank you kind human." Another said: "What a transformation! I'm so glad you could give him the life he deserves!"
Explaining further in another thread, the person who shared the pictures said they had taken him to several vets who told them he was between four to eight-years-old. They also confirmed that, according to the woman who the cat now lives with, he is perfectly healthy.
This comes after pictures showed how another cat, who was found trying to eat "garbage" and "dry plates of old cat food", had changed after being rescued.
"When a rough Arizona summer hit, she decided she’d had enough of being outside, and trusted me to bring her in," the rescuer said on Reddit. They explained how they gave the cat a "good brushing" and "cleaned her long fur with some dry shampoo".
They added: "There was a completely different cat underneath all the grime and tangles. Two years later, she purrs when I feed her, but still enjoys the outdoors… viewed through a window, from her perch."
