McDonald's is launching a new Chilli Double Cheeseburger next week.

Announcing the news today, McDonald's said the burger - which will be made from two 100% British & Irish beef patties, two slices of cheese, onions, jalapenos, pickles and spicy relish - will officially join its Saver Menu on November 6. The chain teased the new item on the would "tantalise taste buds without breaking the bank".

The burger will set people back £2.49. Other Saver Menu items include fries, burgers, desserts and drinks, with prices starting at just £1.19. McDonald's offers nearly a dozen items on the menu, which was first established more than a decade ago in 2009.

In its current state, the Saver Menu includes:

  • Double Cheeseburger: £2.29
  • Mayo Chicken: £1.39
  • Small Fries: £1.19
  • Mini Core McFlurry: £1.29
  • Chilli Double Cheeseburger: £2.49

The latest addition to the Saver Menu comes not long after the fast-food chain launched another money saving deal for its customers. A £5 meal deal allowing people to choose from two different burgers and chicken nuggets - with a chosen medium drink and fries - debuted earlier this month.

A meal like this would usually cost £7.36, meaning the new deal lets people save a not insignificant £2.36. And as if that wasn't enough, McDonald's has also jumped on the seasonal bandwagon, with a Halloween special launched earlier this month offering a completely retooled menu.

The menu includes sweet treats like a brand-new toasted marshmallow latte that looks set to rival other autumnal treats typically offered around now. Other new additions include the Mozzarella and Emmental bites, which boast a caramelised onion-flavoured breadcrumb crust, and come five for £2.49 15 for £6.79.
