Ozempic is increasingly becoming the go-to drug for those keen on weight loss.
Originally prescribed to tackle type 2 diabetes, Ozempic now being hailed as a powerful weapon in the fight against obesity, facilitating long-term weight management. But it's not without its downsides nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and constipation are among the potential unpleasant reactions, indicating this solution isn't suitable for everyone.
Those preferring to lose weight through more natural means might be intrigued by the revelations of one nutrition expert, who has concocted what some have termed a 'natural Ozempic' fruit drink.
Dietitian Courtney Kassis, better known to her whopping 323,000 Instagram followers as @dietitianwithtwins, regularly dishes out diet advice and weight loss strategies online. Her latest offering, a healthy fruit beverage claimed to curb cravings and boost weight loss efforts, has sent her fans into a frenzy.
In a captivating reel, viewers watched Courtney enjoy her drink while the screen flashed with the words: "When you realise fibre can have effects similar to Ozempic, so you drink this daily and you see more results in two week than you have in two years."
Courtney then shared her recipe on camera, preparing the concoction with water, chia seeds, frozen raspberries, lemon juice, and coconut water.
She reached out to her followers in her post, saying: "Here's the recipe to this Raspberry Chia Fresca. Fibre works similarly to Ozempic as it helps manage blood sugar levels, promote satiety and promote secretion of GLP-1!
"The result? A high-fibre diet can aid in reducing cravings, regulating appetite and helping you reach your health and weight loss goals effortlessly."
She further explained: "30 grams of fibre minimum daily is the goal and I help my clients easily reach this goal with structured meal plans that follow The 90-30-50 Method: 90 grams of protein minimum daily. grams of fibre minimum daily, 50 grams of healthy fat minimum daily."
Her followers were quick to show their appreciation for the video, which has already garnered over 9,900 likes.
The NHS concurs with her advice, recommending a daily intake of 30g of fibre as part of a balanced diet, and also notes that fibre-rich foods can help us feel more satisfied after meals.
