Amid viewers fuming over Cain Dingle and Ruby Miligan's affair on Emmerdale, there could be explosive scenes ahead.
They were almost rumbled hours after their secret fling, as Thursday's hour-long episode of the ITV soap saw Cain's brother and Ruby's husband Caleb Miligan make a discovery. Ruby and Cain were seen fuming at each other, vowing never to expose what they did.
Cain cheated on his wife Moira Dingle when she was in the middle of brain surgery amid her brain tumour diagnosis. Ruby had gotten drunk after falling out with Caleb, following the arrival of her estranged father Anthony Fox.
Ruby and Cain clashed, but their row turned into passion in a twist nobody saw coming - and nobody wanted to see. Of course there is bound to be catastrophic consequences for all involved, and now it may have been revealed how the secret comes to light.
Caleb was mortified when he uncovered a box of emergency contraception in the bin of his home. He avoided speaking to Ruby about it and instead spoke with Cain, leading to Cain thinking he knew the truth.
As Cain prepared to plead for forgiveness he was stunned, as Caleb's reaction soon revealed he had no idea about him and Ruby's betrayal. Instead, Caleb had somehow assumed the morning after pill belonged to his daughter Steph Miligan, amid her getting cosy with Ross Barton.
Caleb admitted he didn't know what to do about it, wanting to speak with Steph but not wanting to push her away. But this put Cain in the clear as he urged him to leave things alone.
So Caleb has no idea the box was Ruby's and that she has cheated on him, never mind the fact that she slept with his own brother. As Cain and Ruby lashed out at each other, full of hatred for what they did, their vow never to mention it again only encouraged the idea the secret would soon come out.
Now the scene with Caleb may give away how this secret comes to light. Caleb seemed keen to speak with Steph, and if he does he will soon find out that the pill isn't hers.
So will Caleb confront his daughter, and might she be forced to reveal she didn't put it in the bin which would mean it would have to have been Ruby? Could Steph's denial lead to her or Caleb uncovering Ruby has cheated, and might someone have seen her leaving the garage that day and put two and two together?
